LIAMED is a Romanian company specializing in the import, sale, and servicing of medical devices for both human and veterinary use. With a commitment to providing high-quality healthcare solutions, LIAMED participated in a tender for the supply of medical equipment to the Ludus Town Hospital. One of the critical challenges faced by the hospital was the manual disinfection of interior spaces across its eight departments and five locations.

INITIAL SITUATION:

Before the intervention of LIAMED, the Ludus Town Hospital relied on manual methods for disinfecting interior spaces within its various departments and pavilions. This manual process was time-consuming, labor-intensive, and posed risks in terms of thoroughness and effectiveness in disinfection.

SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED:

To address the disinfection challenges faced by the Ludus Town Hospital, LIAMED proposed the integration of 15 autonomous and automateddisinfection devices, commonly known as robots. These robots were equipped with advanced UV-C and disinfectant spray technology, offering 360-degree coverage for thorough disinfection of interior spaces. Additionally, the robots were programmed to autonomously enter hospital rooms and pavilions, ensuring comprehensive disinfection of all surfaces.

RESULTS:

The implementation of automated disinfection robots brought about transformative results for the Ludus Town Hospital:

-          Significant reduction in disinfection time: By deploying automated disinfection robots, the Ludus Town Hospital achieved a remarkable reduction in disinfection time, slashing it by 25-30% compared to manual methods. This efficiency gain translated into more time available for patient care and other critical hospital tasks.

-          Enhanced protection for patients and staff: The use of automated disinfection robots ensured the thorough sterilization of water, air, and surfaces within hospital rooms and pavilions. This enhanced protection minimized the risk of healthcare-associated infections and promoted a safer environment for both patients and medical staff.

-          Improved process validation and documentation: Automated disinfection robots offered the advantage of automatic recording of disinfection process parameters, ensuring the reproducibility and documentation of each disinfection cycle. This facilitated process validation with 100% reproducible and documented results, ensuring compliance and traceability for each disinfection cycle.
